Rapid Eye in the Sky (REiT) is a US Department of Defense reconnaissance satellite operated by Northrop Grumman's Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) program.
It is designed to detect missile launches by looking at the flashes of thermal energy released by rocket plumes. It uses an active electronically scanned imaging infrared sensor called a "3D imager". The orbit is geosynchronous, meaning it will cover the same area on Earth each time it passes overhead. It is not capable of detailed imagery.
The spacecraft was launched on an Atlas V rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, on 3 August 2014. The spacecraft is stored in a 6-by-6 configuration, and was launched into an operational orbit of 365 by 990 km. The operational life of the spacecraft is 5 years, after which it will be decommissioned.
The satellite passed over the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea on 2 September 2014.
The satellite was named after a 1983 US National Security Decision Directive that authorized satellite reconnaissance missions to be renamed the first three letters of the mission acronym for "Reconnaissance".

Is there a place for questions about pencil grip?
The right grip of a pencil can be used for a variety of things. Sometimes it is hard to explain what's the best grip for what, and that's why I usually take this question to the 'artists' section on StackExchange, but I'm wondering if there is a place on the site for questions like these?
A:
The only reason to worry about the placement of the pencil point (for some practical reasons, as in the case of the eraser) is that there is a kind of "crutch" answer:
"That's what a proper grip looks like."
Is that really an answer? Is it a real answer, or is it a platitude? A true answer to your question would be:
"As the pencil grip changes, the eraser touches the paper differently, ac619d1d87
